These lightly roasted almonds hail from the fine spice emporium Mill & Mortar based in Vedbæk, Denmark. Their crispness and naturally sweet flavour comes from the use of Guara almonds which are a relatively new species from Spain. Their taste is not dissimilar to the Marcona almonds, though with Guara almonds it is rare to find any bitter ones. Roasted in a dusting of sea salt and hand-packaged in a bag within a cardboard box, these high-quality almonds are organically harvested and are a showstopper on any table.
Mill & Mortar work to source the very best almonds from Spain and Italy and season them with both sweet and savoury flavours. Whilst they offer many different spices and flavours for consumers to try, these almonds are designed to be enjoyed whilst cooking, with an aperitif, a cup of coffee, some tapas or even to spruce up a salad or dessert.
With previous experience in the consulting industry, Mill & Mortar was founded in 2008 by Iben Büchert, who decided to focus her attention on one of her lifelong hobbies: food. Always looking for new flavours, she is inspired by ingredients around her, cook books or even a person or dish that stands out to her. These salted almonds are just one of the many edible creations that Büchert has produced at Mill & Mortar, each telling their own story about their origin and the people involved in their production. Mill & Mortar is dedicated to clean label production and sustainable cultivation, taking care to ensure their produce is organic and harvested appropriately. This requires maintaining long standing relationships with reliable spice farmers and suppliers, who use age-old traditions to harvest their crop and hold it to the highest standards.
